Broadly, our work is focused on causal mapping of human brain function and dysfunction in mental illness. Using techniques such as functional connectivity MRI, we map brain circuits to link brain lesions and brain stimulation sites that can modify different psychiatric symptoms. These circuits can then be targeted with treatments such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and deep brain stimulation (DBS).
I spend my spare time playing speed chess online, shopping for guitars (I’m better at shopping for them than actually playing them), thinking of bad science jokes, and traveling with my wife.
